Coronation

Our Coronation sundial has been specially designed to celebrate our seventieth year in business. We opened our fine cast stone business on the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953 and seventy years on the country has celebrated another coronation, this time for King Charles. We still make all our fine cast stone garden ornaments and architectural stone by hand just as we did back in 1953. To commemorate this passing of time, it seemed fitting to create a new sundial. Designed in-house by Matthew Spicer.

This sundial is different from our other sundial plinths as it has an engraved face and aluminum gnomon instead of a brass sundial plate. The engraved face can be painted gold, silver or black on request.

This working timepiece makes a beautiful focal point for gardens and patios.

This garden sundial can be engraved with a personal message for an additional cost for gifts and memorials.

Engraving & personalisation

Chilstone are pleased to offer many kinds of customisation and personalised detailing including house names, memorials, anniversaries and birthdays, building origin dates, plaques, historical biographical references and many more. Hand engraving is offered on any piece, whether it is a hand carved inscription on a stone monument or a personal message engraved on a brass garden ornament. Gilding and painting are also possible.
