With a Little Help From Our Friends
Thursday, May 24 , 2018
Gardeners are an amazing bunch of people. Every year we soak up the community spirit of Chelsea and enjoy the camaraderie between the other exhibitors and garden designers. We feel blessed to have made some truly great friends at the show over the years. Friendship aside, you have to meet the high RHS standards to feature at Chelsea. Here is our round up of our friends and supporters with excellent stands that you’d be mad to miss at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
Brad and his team make high quality, contemporary water features and fire pits that are the envy of many! These are perfect for city gardens and patios. Solus Decor were finalists for the 2016 RHS Product of the Year and we are proud to display Solus products at our show gardens in Kent.
The Solus team are friendly and great fun, so take a seat on their stand and admire what they have to offer at Chelsea this year.
Griffin Glasshouses make the gardener’s haven as beautiful as it can be. These statement greenhouses are available in many sizes to suit your space and style. We are proud to work with the Griffin team. We are proud that Griffin choose our planters as centrepieces on their stand year after year. Our Octagonal Gothic Jardiniere looks fantastic in the middle of their stand at Chelsea this year!
Griffin have teamed up with Alan Titchmarsh to launch two new glasshouses at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in support of Alan’s gardening charity.
Now, not many people remember this (we have been in business for 65 years after all), but when we first moved to our current show gardens just outside Tunbridge Wells in Kent, we were lucky to have our site opened by the fabulous Alan Titchmarsh! He’s been our admired friend ever since. This year he is launching a new product with our friends at Griffin Glasshouses, so we made sure that we popped along to offer our support!
We have worked with Guruve for many years, hosting their sculptures at our show gardens for events and as part of our sculpture trail. They add a vibrant injection of culture to our space we are so honoured to be entrusted with their pieces. Talent spotters extraordinaire with impeccable taste and style.
Garden designer, John Everiss is back at the Chelsea Flower Show 2018 with his spectacular, Silver-gilt winning garden for Myeloma UK. John always creates daring sculptures that are evocative and impressive, surrounded by an abundance of elegant planting.
We worked with John back in 2016, supplying a bespoke temple for his BBC People’s Choice Award winning Meningitis Now garden and in April he was a key speaker at our Chelsea Preview event. It was fascinating to get an insight into his creative process.
Although not exhibiting, Ali Dempster and his team have worked tirelessly to design and build our stand with our staff, while Simon Suttcliffe an his team grew and supplied all our magnificent plants. Thank you so much!
Here are Ali and Simon on last year’s 5 Star Award winning Chilstone stand with Steve Clark, General Manager (they have been hiding from the camera this year!)
We are so delighted to have won a 5 Star Award from the RHS for our stand for a second year running. Thank you for all your messages and support. It means so much to us. Please come and see us at stand PW/607, between Hospital Way and the Grand Pavillion, we’d love to see you! You can see more of our handcrafted stonework at www.chilstone.com and we’d love to see you at our show gardens!
Our stand this year, combines our classic Kew Fountain with our best selling garden ornaments and popular architectural components, including columns and door surrounds, all hand crafted in Kent. We are also proud to unveil our new sculptures, designed and created my Admir Sljivic, along with our new Chelsea Sundial Plinth to celebrate 65 years of hand craftsmanship!
