Virtual Chelsea – Flower trends and Beautiful Blooms from the RHS Chelsea Flower Shows

The RHS Chelsea Flower is the number one destination for all flower lovers. The blooms in the Great Pavilion are a breathtaking experience; (partly due to the enormously high pollen levels), the riot of colour and beauty is unparalleled. This year the Chelsea Flower Show has been cancelled, but there’s no reason why we can’t take a look at some of the flower displays and themes from previous shows!

Alliums are a big part of the show!

The Chelsea Flower Show always falls in late May, which is prime Allium season. There are whole displays of these beauties every year, each one unique. From swathes of blooms in the Great Pavilion to show garden stunners, these plants attract bees and gardeners alike!

Exceptional Displays!

The quality of the plants is exceptional and the displays are profoundly beautiful. A sensory overload of colour, size, fragrance and wonder hits you from every angle as you walk around the show! From delicate to immense displays, there are so many to delight. The hours of work in each display from the design to the growing and final arrangement is vast! Some growers focus their whole year around preparing for the show.

Impressive displays of flowers in purple and yellow like this one make the RHS Chelsea the greatest flower show in the world!

The displays are so varied in planting and imagination from the most talented florists, growers and plants men and women.

Every display is extraordinary with specialist plant growers creating magnificent stands to exhibit each year.

Something more unusual!

The displays are always unique and often unexpected, incorporating everything from sculptures of badgers to a whole ocean liner! Each one brimming with blooms to spark the imagination, to tell stories and evoke emotion.

Champion growers

Some growers return year after year.  David Austin’s roses stand is a sight not not be missed! It’s always cascading with so many blooms that smell divine! The clematis growers, Thorncroft, also create an annual masterpiece! These stands are bursting with a huge variety of climbers in every shade and size imaginable!

And don’t forget the lovely Lupins!

Lastly these perennial beauties. Chelsea always has impressive Lupins of every colour imaginable in nearly every show and artisan garden. Theses versatile plants add nice leaf texture with opulent spikes of colour that add texture to display beds.
