Top Planting Trends and Flowers at Chelsea Flower Show
Thursday, May 25, 2017
We really are in the perfect place for this weather! Chelsea Flower Show has been exquisitely beautiful, so busy (we've had lots of you signing up to enter our special Hever Castle competition! It's still open if you want to take part.) and we've seen so many inspiring gardens and displays.
So for all of you slaving away in the office on this hot day we thought we'd share some of our favourite flowers and displays spotted over the weekend, pour yourself a glass of something cool, and enjoy.
A Riot of Colour
Everywhere you looked at Chelsea 2017 there were eye popping colours; warm tones especially. We loved this display inside the Great pavilion which whisked the onlooker away to a tropical paradise island.
Sculpture is big
So much sculpture! This 'Firebird' took the red/yellow trend up a notch, bursting out of the subtle colours of the planting behind.
We were very pleased to spot that Lupins appear to be back on trend, these two tone pink/ orange beauties seemed to be disguising themselves as hot pokers.
With the bold colours, tropical plants and citrus spotted you could easily pretend you'd got lost in the jungle. We love the idea of planting unusual items in pots like this, it would look great in miniature too!
We spotted a fair few circular designs, and felt them to be very calming indeed, a great addition to a peace garden or a quiet spot for a doze in the sun.
Animals are our friends
If you saw this beautifully ramshackle planting you'd be forgiven for thinking it had been growing up for hundreds of years. It's incredible to think all this is designed and planted in such a short time!
Animals were everywhere again this year, which we're so pleased about. It seemed the bigger, the better too with many horses and deer sculptures
All the trends
We thought this garden perfectly summed up all the trends we spotted this Chelsea Flower Show; romantic wild planting, bold warm colours and lupins (not pictured), all it needs is a few Chilstone sculptures to finish it off perfectly!
Peaceful Blue hues
And last but not least, how could we forget our own 5 Star awarded stand! The beautiful blue planting was all cleverly designed to match our logo by How Green Nursery.
Which garden trends from Chelsea will you be thinking of trying out in your own back yard this year? It's certainly given us a whole heap of inspiration for our grounds and show garden!
